I'm looking for a used 18' Skeeter with a "musky livewell". That is a livewell that is the size of two livewells joined together. I've seen them where it actually is two livewells with a divider that can be removed or swung out the way. The approximate dimensions are 8" wide X 48" long. I checked with a Skeeter dealer, and he said that livewell is not offered on any of the new models. That's OK with me, because I can't afford a new boat. Does anyone know which years and models offered this livewell?

PMA how important is the livewell for you?

A friend of mine actually converted a regular size coolar to a live well with some aquarium stuff - cost him less then $ 50.oo and works for him.

Re: Skeeter Livewells

Pma

i had an 1993 skeeter sl/180 fisk/ski
it had 2 live wells both small though.

i did have a very bad experance with the aft live well.
i tied up to the dock after a little evening fishing trip and i forgot to turn the fresh water pump off that goes to the aft well.

came back the next mourning to find the boat almost submerged!

the overflow tube in the live well does not let the water out as fast as it is pumping it in.

the only thing that kept it from sinking was the 4 ropes tieing it to the dock.

another thing that i didnt like about my skeeter was the fact that they used plain metal staples for the entire interior not stainless steel.
i dont have to tell you what happenes when water is around plain metal. the entire interiour fell apart in no time.
here was this beautiful metal flake boat with a crappy interior.

for a manufacture that claims to be the builder of the first bass boat you thing they would have thought of that!

Russman
