How much force does it take to actually bend the propeller shaft? When backing the trailer to park boat/trailer for the night I accidentaly went a fraction too far and hit the concrete wall at a very very slow speed with the 120HP outboard in full up position. It a stainless steel prop. Doesnt look like anything was damaged but how would be able to tell if in fact the propeller shaft bent at all?

Take the prop off.
Hook up a hose.
Start the motor and put in gear.
Your vision will be able to see any wobble.

That ok??
Install the prop and start the motor, put in gear.

Again your eye will tell if it's bent.

Changing oil, pulled prop to grease shaft.
Reinstalled and spun the prop, BIG wobble.
Seems the hub broke free and the prop went out of position.
The prop was OLD!!!!!! I believe the salt water got to the alum. and caused it to slip.
Bad thing, only worth pennies at the scrap yard :(
