I was just wondering...I have a 1997 Powerquest, 454 Mag Bravo One.......the guy I boat the boat from last year put a Skegguard on the lower unit........does this reduce top speed at all?

Not in my experience, Gibby.<br /><br />I have SkegGards on two boats now, and have used them on several others.<br /><br />Good luck.

JB, are they worth putting on when your skegs are ok for added protection?

Why wait 'til your nice skeg gets bashed up?? <br /><br />I put mine on when I install the engines, just like Brian.

May not prevent damage, but takes the initial 'shock' rather than subject it directly to the skeg. JMO...<br />Happy Boating!<br />Brian
