Looking to add a small ski bar that goes over the motor a foot or so. What does everyone else use? I need to get the rope out of the water more. Thanks

That's pretty much what I always had on my toons but the ones I installed were made for that specific boat, and were supplied by the boat dealer to ensure proper fit and reinforcement thru the pontoon deck. And yes, it certainly makes life easier as compared to the float and hooks that get drug thru the water.

I love the design of the TurboSwing and was all ready to start fabricating my own when it hit me; use VELCRO.

The problem with the pulley harness is no matter how good the "float" is the cable sinks right by the prop. As soon as you toss it over the outboard you have to either keep moving forward or have the skier keep tension on the rope. To prevent the cable from sinking I attached the pulley to the top of the motor cover with Velcro. This keeps the harness out of harms way until the rope is pulled tight at which point the Velcro tears apart and the harness pops into the water. It actually works so well I've put the ski bar on the back burner for the summer.

Try something like this... it was already there when I bought my toon 5 years ago.

Here is my setup that I just completed - only use once with a kneeboard and all good so far. I bought the ski bar on craigslist and then homebrewed the rest of the setup. The front legs attach to 1/2" steel plates that are thru-bolted to plywood deck. Rear legs are thru-bolted to pontoon crossmembers in the rear.
