Ski locker holds water

The cover for my boat doesn't work so well. I found a lot of water in the boat after the last downpour, mostly in the ski locker between the seats. Now, before I go drilling holes, is there some safe way to install a plug (or hole) without damaging the hull? I don't know what's under the locker...

Chris,<br />MOST boats with ski lockers in the floor, drain to the bilge area... I suspect the drain is plugged, or has been carpeted (or carpet-glued) over...<br /><br />Good Luck, Obiwan

Ok, I'll pull up the carpet and see if there's a drain. If not, is it ok to drill one?

Chris:<br />My bet is that there is a drain plug, but if for some strange reason there isn't, I would visit your local dealer and ask weather to install (drill) straight down or horizontal at the back of the locker.

BETTER BE VERY CAREFUL! I too seem to get and retain some moisture in the ski locker between the seats. My ski locker also is carpeted. It's a Four Winns. There is a drain hole in the compartment to the bilge and it's open but between the ski locker and the engine bilge area is also a 30 GALLON FUEL TANK! I'd be very skepticle about drilling if you don't know what's behind. You wouldn't be happy drilling a hole in a FUEL TANK!

Maybe you should talk to AiBoats about deleteing or taking off old posts. Ha! Ha! I didn't even think to look at when the post was dated. SORRY
