i'm getting real close, gonna start cutting these rolls into appropriate sized pieces soon for the stringers, mat-roven-mat.

i've read that with cloth, you want each layer to reach out further than the previous.

what's the best way to cut and layer mat/roven?

also, is any more grinding required than the initial 5-6" past the stringers and old deck i've already gone? i'm going to grind some drip spots and other areas where things got messy when bedding stringers...any need to grind anything else (non-waxed poly)?

oops!

Re: slappin on some mat and roven

hey salty !

depending on how thick the matt is....if its one oz...just rip it...

over 1 oz i use sizzors....

and yes each layer of mat or cloth should reach a little farther on the hull...2 ins minimum...that way each peice holds the hull.

id grind out just a little farther.....or at least ruff and scuff the area...to 10 ins...that way if your lay up is crooked you have space prepped......

remember to clean the area with acetone throughly.....

cheers
