How many snowmobile owners have we got here and what's your make and model?

Personal sleds I have are both Cats.....an '07 M8 153" and a '98 Powder spl. with an 800 carbed engine shoe-horned in, modified heat exchangers to accept a 2-1/4" challanger track with the 144" kit.

Re: Sled-heads.....

I'll trade you my 91 EXT Mtn Cat 136" 1 3/4" paddle for them??

You can't have the '02 Yamaha 700 triple w/121" 1 3/4" paddle.
That one is a screamer :)

Re: Sled-heads.....

None...unfortunately. Living in the Pacific Northwest the only snow we largely get is the melted kind.
When I lived in the snow belt (Great Lakes) in Ontario I unfortunately did not have one there either. However I had a few buddies who had them...they were a blast. A great sport and a lot of fun for sure.
They are obviously a pretty common site in an Ontario winter. That said, I think Quebec has the worlds largest array of snowmobiles trails and routes in the world....it seems to be its own culture in a way.

I have a vintage sled- 1972 Polaris Mustang 530 twin.
It's not exactly a showpiece, but it's fun for running around the neighborhood. Maybe someday I'll restore it.........

Well, does past snowmobiles count?
Before I moved south, I lived up in Bondo's area an used to race a yamaha 338GPX... Anyone of you folks remember those sweet rides?

Re: Sled-heads.....

looks like it'd be a killer "donut" doer... other than that, I doubt it'd be good for much. Looks cool though.

If it did actually get moving, it'd likely be kinda spooky without much for braking.

Ahhhh. The old Evinrudes. Not much for speed but very advanced for their time.

Re: Sled-heads.....

Back in the day I ran a Polaris Indy 600, ('86 If I recall correctly) 600cc liquid cooled triple. Ran carbide hookers and skags, modified clutch curve and weights along with tuned pipes and a triple pyrometer to make sure I never reaches the "smelting point" of aluminum.;):D But since I moved south 14 years ago haven't done much sledding. Man I sure miss that. :(:(

I'm running a 2001 700 venture. But also have my first sled. A1973 Mercury Lightning; take it out every once in a while too.
