I am getting ready to can some bread and butter pickles. I don't have a slicer or food processer. I was checking out the different small appliances for the job at hand. I really don't want to spend a lot of money on something that I will only use a couple of times a year. I was looking at the Salad Shooter. Does anyone have one of these and how well does it perform......Thanks.........SS

Re: Slicing cucumbers

we use an old sliding box style cabbage cutter.
We stuff about 12 cukes vertically in the box at a time.

Re: Slicing cucumbers

All you really need is a good cutting board and a sharp 10 to 12 inch french chef knife.

She'll forgive you about February when she tastes the pickles.:D

My wife used to feel that way about money for fishing. Took her out in the boat last night. She caught supper. I drove. Had a couple of friends along so I'll not soon live it down. Life is good, even if my personal fishing isn't.:D

She's baking bread and freezing beans with my help. I'll drive her to the fishing spot before dawn tomorrow.
