I added a t&t to my 1990 60hp johnson as it only came with a manual tilt that failed. The t&t was unit only with a bust motor but it was dirt cheap. I purchased a motor and then added the wiring including making up a homemade relay box. I also bought a trim switch with a pig tail that i zip tie to the wheel.

Now at the start it worked fine but over the summer it took ages to trim up when underway. It also thakes an age to trim up. Now i checked the fluid level this today and it was full (thought as much as the seals are in good nick). I disconnected the two wires from the motor and connected them directly to the battery, the t&t flew up like it should but hasn't been doing for a while.

The issue is electrical , what would make the motor not work as fast, bad connections or weak diodes or something else??

dang,it's a whole lot of work to pull the wiring to see where those connections can be bad. Guess it has to be done.. thanks Boobie.
