Ihave a DT65 horse suzuki and it is under powered when you go to take of i thought it was the prop so i changed it.it did'nt work. It seems that the rpm's are'nt high enough. But when you are going for alittle bit it will get up and go.could i still have the wrong prop. It is a 15 pitch 11" diameter.the boat is a 1978 lund 16'. Motor is a 79 . cleaned the carbs set the air screws so it runs clean but no hole.

Got what rpm at WOT, Dig??

Changed prop from what to what? Now getting what rpm at WOT??

Is the 15" prop what you started with or what you now have on her?

Diagnosing performance problems like yours, if it really is a problem and not just impressions, requires readings on what the engine is doing.

Get a tach on her and let us know. Good luck. :)

Re: slow out of the hole

Hi,
I had a Suzuki DT65 (1991) before.
I used a "S1500" propeller and max RPM was 5500
and speed then with 2 persons was 30 knots with my boat (5.4 x 2.1 meter, Hard Top).

My DT65 had electrical Trim & Tilt. Do You have that? To trim down the outboard before accelerate to plane really helps, and at cruise to full speed trim out gradually to get optimal performance.

Do You have tachometer? What is Your RPM at full throttle?

Diffrent Suzuki propellers You could try, depending what You have tried already:
