Speed limiting overheat warning. Check heat sensor or power pack.

Re: SLOW secure system, how it works?

Thank's

The engine does not run to hot the temp gauge shows normal temp (dont get any overheat alarm).
It drops power exact at 4800 rpm. Im turn it back to idle and it works perfect up to 4800 again.
When it have drop the power it kicks up and down with short rpm peaks trying to get power again.
Have checked everything with fuel restrict.

Maybe the power pack can be the problem.

Check your ignition coils for cracks, leaking, and good ground. Try cleaning the coils ground straps. Also. if possible, run the boat at dusk with the cover off and look for stray spark from the high tension ignition system

Thanks all

One quest. If it was the power pack that was the fault shouldnt one side of the plugs be dry when i turn the key off while this power drop happens?

Good point. If its a carbureated motor, I´d look into fuel supply first, tank, lines, connectors, pump and all clamps. At high RPMS it really starts to need fuel.

Thanks G DANE

Checked all the things hat could have something to do with fuel restrict all the way to the carbs.
Have not checked the carbs yet. But a friend told me if it was a high speed yet that was cloged the engine only should drop for about 300 rpm.

Re: SLOW secure system, how it works?

A V4 with a non working cylinder will loose up to 50% as the others will have to pull the bad cylinder . A V6 will loose up to 30 %. I dont think you have a complete non working cylinder, and I dont think you would reach 4800 with a blocked high speed jet. I would look into fuel pump or supply instead, before buying power pack. Can you run it from a portable tank and prime it as it starts acting up ? If spark related it will very rarely recover immediately.

Thanks G DANE.

Did try to connect it to a portable tank and did pump the bulb when it start to "stutter" at 4800 rpm, but no diffrent, act like before.
Have no prob at all at 4500 rpm it runs perfect at that rpm.
Have clean the fuelfilter, did connect the portable tank direct to the fuel filter.
But have not checked to pump the primer button (at the key)
