Slow to plane, what prop??

Looking for some help here for a17 ft. Sea Sprite 1978 with a Volvo AQ120B with Volvo 270 outdrve, Prop is a Solas aluminum 3 blade 14.8 X 17 pitch, boat seems to be digging in and slow to get on a plane. Now prop has a pretty good chip out of it and looking to get another prop but unsure if we should match with what came with the boat. Anyone have a suggestion?

What is the history of the boat? Did it ever plane out fast. Is the boat "new" to you? Yes, a chip makes a tiny effect but probably should be repaired.

Let us know and we will try to help. A 1978 boat Hmmm.... has the flotation been checked for water? Some people who have had older boats have found that the hundreds of lbs of water in the foam slowed them down
