I have a 16' aluminum Smoker Craft.
I usually am out in the bay at day break floundering or run up rivewr to crab.
I then return late morning to pick up the wife and 6 yr. old son and we are back out either sandbaring or fishing or just playing around the bay.
The wife would like to get some shade as that part of the day the sun is geeting hot and I would agree.
Looking into bimini's so far at West Marine, Cabelas and Overton's.
All have many options from material (Sunrella, Solarskin, Sharkskin) to name a few.
All have many pole/hardware options (nylon pipe fittings or stainless fittings).
I have heard the ss fittings on alum. piping can cause corrision so stick with the nylon stuff.
I will probably get one that (although a little unusuall looking-but practical) is pretty high so we can stand under it when it's up.
I probably will not leave this on the boat when I am fishing in the a.m. or crabbing so easy on/off is a must.
Any and all opinions are appreiciated.
