small boats with swim platforms?

I want to add a small ladder or swim platform to my boat. Right now I only have a 14' ob, and I was looking at something like this:

Would that work? Would it be too big? I worry about it dragging in the water because my boat is so small and rides so low to the water at the stern.

How about just a really really collapsible ladder? It would have to collapse pretty small to avoid getting in the way or just looking terrible on the boat.

What should I be looking at? Any pics or your small boats with ladders or platforms?

When your boat is on plane that ladder/Platform will not be in the water. As long as your transom is tall enough to mount the brace to you should be fine.

yah you should be fine with.. that ladder part should fold up i would think.. mine does

Now, when the boat is on plane I can understand the platform and ladder coming out of the water, but what about sharp turns? I'm having a hard time visualizing it.

What kind of boat? Do you have any pics? Even in a turn the platform should be out of the water.

Try making a rope ladder, and just tieing it to a cleat. It would be storable, and have a rustic feel. and cheap.

I've had a small folding ladder on two different 14 ft boats I have had, one aluminum and one fiberglass. You can get it here:

it is small, easily mountable, cheap, and stays out of the way. No swim platform, but it did the job for me.... YMMV

you could probally mount it right below one of the transom hooks. at the waterline.
