Hey, I have had a 5m fiberglass ski boat for about a year and it continuously fills up with water. We have injected fiberglass resin into 14 small holes under the boat and it still fills up. Is there a way we can simply paint the bottom of the boat with fiberglass so it will fill in anymore small holes. (I can still see a few more) but it fills up too quick to just be a couple. also the center of the hull from front to back has no paint left on it and just shows fiberglass. maybe it is getting through there? Any help would be gerat. A simple long lasting solution would be great. Thanks.

Re: Small holes in underside of fiberglass boat

I'm still learning about boats so I'm not sure if it will cause water to seep in having the glass exposed like that but it can't be a good thing. I had the same problem with my 4.5m when I bought it the gelcoat was scrapped off from the keel from before where it starts to rise to the bow right up to just near the winch eye and chipped all the way along the keel to the transom, plus a few scratches on the hull. I've fixed about 3/4 of the keel and filled most of the scratches in. I've been using a 2 pac "gelcoat repair filler" from a company named boatcare and I'm really happy with the results, I've got some pictures of the progress so far on shareaproject if you want to take a look I'll put the link bellow. It's a time consuming job but not really hard or complicated, just make sure you were at least a p2 mask when your sanding.
