In spite of the sore back the weather was most excellant outside today so to work on the engine I went!

Last week I picked up a bunch of parts for a couple 50hp and a 60hp Johnson I have. So today I was able to pull the starter from the 1983 60hp and proceeded to replace all the fuel lines to both carbs and the fuel pump. Have to admit I had to stop and rest a number of times and took most of the afternoon. With the carb covers off I was also able to do a pretty good job of cleaning everything up, cleaning up old fuel and rerouting a few wires that were not where they belonged. Hopefully the new fuel lines will reduce some of the fuel leakage I was seeing from many of the fittings!

Now the back is sore and it's time for a nice hot shower and a good rubdown. Glad to say though that mobility is getting better.

I feel your pain, have had a couple of major back surgeries myself. Take it easy and take care of yourself.

Daviet, I believe you've followed this whole saga of the back injury and appreciate the kind words! Little at a time and I'll work through it.
Felt good to be out in the sunshine and warm weather. Wish I could do more but that will come with time.

Not sure if those were the "good ol days" but it sure was fun then!

At the time Lake Geneva was the "party " town. One place called "the top deck", on the weekends had 5 working bars. 2 live band stages and a DJ bar downstairs.

Hey, hold on there I was one of those FIBS back then, Spent a lot of money here and noone asked where it came from.

Just shortly afterwards Ilinios lowered thier drinking ade to 19. Then Of course the whole country went MADD and raised it everywhere. which I have no problem with. Hiways are getting faster, traffic at all times of the day have increased, Urban sprawl.

Re: Small progress under the circumstance

anyways. had to take it a bit easy today. Back was a little tighter today. Was able to pick up most of the mess left from yesterday. Then sat and tried to figure out how I was going to get the other 50hp out into the open to where I could work on it. Right now it's a lot more than I can handle by myself.

I still need to relaunch the boat so I can check the repairs made to the lower unit. The shift rod was way out of adjustment.

Wife says no more work until I find some help moving things around. Hard to do when everyone else is at work and I'm just now being able to tie my own shoes again or pick things up from the ground.

Gawd I hate being hurt and not being able to do anything.
