Im replacing the gaskets on the manifolds for the risers.... and a few small pieces fell into the exhaust manifold. How should I get these pieces out or should I worry about it? Will they just blow out the exhaust when running it?

Did the gasket pieces fall into the exhaust portion of the manifold or the water jacket? How big are the pieces?

Some or most went into the water jacket... which i know will just blow out... very small pieces. And for the manifold... like 2 small pieces fell into the manifold portion.

I think I'd put muffs on it and fire it up for a second before putting the riser on... it'd all blow out

Put it on the muffs and fire it up BEFORE putting riser on ????????? Ummmm.......... Don't think that is a good idea, with the water coming out the water jacket of the manifold and flowing into the open manifiold... If you do decide to run it w/o the risers, run it for a second without the muffs, or disconnect the discharge hose from the raw water pump and dump into bilges, so pump won't be compromised.

I would just put it all back together and run it normally. That should blow everything out, especially on initial blast when it starts.

Shop vac . . . use some small tubing to get into the water passages, etc

Regardless, the pieces will probably come flying out through the exhaust once the engine is started.
