Good news
Salt Lake City and NBC News confirm that Elizabeth Smart, the missing Utah teen, is alive. She was found today in a restaurant in Sandee, Utah, with a sometime handyman for the Smart family.

Wow, that is great. I hate to think of what she went through, but I am glad she is alive and not going through that hell any more.

Bad thing is that we don't know the whole story yet.

Did she go on her own or was she forced?

Have to wait and see, but he still is in a lot of trouble either way.

But still a happy day for the Smart family. :)

Re: Smart girl found

Well I guess she was taken against her will.

People arrested wearing wigs.

A man and a woman involved in this.

Need to hang em high.

I have nothing for anyone that would harm a child.

Very happy for the little girl and her family. There has to be a special place in hell for someone who would hurt a child.

Re: Smart girl found

It's all on MSNBC now.

They are saying the police have to take it slow so they won't violate the kidnappers rights.

Give me a break.

OH YEA, just wanted to add,
They said they wore wigs, well what I have seen of them, they needed mask on.

They put the letter U in ugly

The whole story is fishy at best.

She must have had ample opportunity to get away if she wanted to over the last 8 months.

It will be interesting what comes out in this one.

H.

Re: Smart girl found

I thought this was a joke at first. "A smart girl was found." I was thinking, " just give her a few years, and she'll be like the rest of the women." Hehehe.

But seriously, good news comes from the least expected sources. It will be interesting to hear the real story. I just hope they don't make a movie of the week out of it.

Guess I've been listening to too much Michael Savage! give him a listen, and find out a whole lot more than the media will ever tell you.

I think there is more to this story. I'm almost betting on it. There's more coming out. Keep your ears open!

H.

Re: Smart girl found

First of all, they are witholding some of the details until the investigation is complete, not to "protect the rights of the kidnappers" but rather to protect the integrity of the evidence for the eventual prosecution of the kidnappers.

It is, after all, the system that we have developed over the years, that anyone is entitled to a fair trial. Whipping up a frenzy with a media mob is not likely to promote a fair trial, I am afraid, no matter what Michael Savage says.

I am sure there is lots that has yet to come out on this story, and we are dealing with a young kid that for her sake I hope is handled with a little sensitivity. I am sure the police and the family understand it, even if the press and the public doesn't.

Keep the integrity of the case?
Don't want a frenzie?

Yer right again.

WHEN'S THE HANGIN'!??
