Hey, I just wanted to take a minute to share my experience with Smart Tabs. I bought my first boat last summer, a 17 ft checkmate enticer with a 115 merc outboard. When I got it running and on the lake it porpoised like crazy. With the help of people on this forum I tried a bunch of resolutions (with and without whale tale, all different trim angles, ect.) can be seen on this thread : http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=504414 Anyways, nothing worked and I finally got smart Tabs. I was hesitant because my boat is shallow hulled and I did not want the tabs taking over the whole transome and frankly I did not know if they would even fit. Well, they fit (barely). I took the boat out for the first time since tabs last weekend and wow. Immediate improvement! the boat jumps on plane better making skiing easier and in does not even come close to porpoising or even have the bow rise that it used to have. Don't get me wrong, I am aware that they are probably compensating for some deeper issue, but it is running great now and without doing any major modifications. I could not be happier. Well worth the Money!
