Are smart tabs the deal or what? Are they worth putting on your boat? Do they help in most situations? I have a 72 Glastron GT-160, would the tabs do all they say they do?

They don't look like too much of a hassle to install. Is this true? There's no hidden bs is there?

How about you trade me some smart tabs and I find you some sex? Howabout a UF Cheerleader?

The only installation glitches you might have are if the boat has a swim platform, live well water inlets, transducers for fish locators, speedometer pitot, boarding ladders, etc. If there are any problems it will be with the upper actuator mount but there always seems to be a work around and John at Nauticus.Com has been extremely helpful in getting things right. The bigger question however is why you think you need them. If the boat gets out of the hole ok, has the expected top speed, rides level, handles properly, you probably don't need them. They are usually added to take care of porpoising, poor hole shot which is common on underpowerd boats, and to help stay on plane at slower speeds. I have them and will never again be without them.

Staying on plane at lower speeds is a bit of a problem with the boat. This could be inexperience in addition to a very touchy throttle.

It sounds that these improve performance regardless of necessity or not. Everyone says "buy them".

I guess I'm a little worried that they may interfere with other things on the rear of the boat like when you tie it down onto the trailer. Is there an issue like that for anyone else? Do the tabs accomodate well?

There have been a couple of tie down problems, that people worked around by changing the tie down location on the trailer or moving the tabs a little for clearance but most of the time there is no interference with tie down. Buy them, install them as far outboard as you can, if you have any issues call John at Nauticus.
