I took my 72 Searay 120 hp Mercruiser out yesterday for the first time after installing smart tabs. It is like adding 25 hp to my boat. I barely has any bow rise and planes almost instantly. Wish I had done it awhile back. I have picked up a rooster tail I didn't have before, but I emailed them and they will probably have a solution.

Re: smart tabs

If the tabs are doing their job you should need very little down trim. All the way down should cause the boat to plow real bad and use lots of fuel. Also cause the motor to work harder and reduces your speed.
On Nice days I would trim up until only 1/2 to 1/3 of the hull is in the water.

If it a rough day then bring the bow down for the best ride but only enough to slice the waves.

Re: smart tabs

talk to the Smart tabs people and I needed to reduce the pressure. It was causing the bow to plow. Now I can trim it out right as well.
