Smartcraft Junction Box

Hi All:
I want to install the Vesselview Mobile device but have no Smartcraft junction box connection ports left (only have a 4 port & they are all occupied). Can I simply purchase a Mercury Smartcraft 6 port junction box and swap them out, or are there special part numbers etc that I need to find?

Not all Merc.s can run the smartcraft system,.....

Btw,.... The serial number is the Best Id,....

Not knowing your full setup installation (how many motors and other items installed) I'll offer this.

Yes a 6 or 8 port can be installed where the 4 port currently is.

I guess I should have indicated more about my setup as you say, to determine if a simple swap out is achievable. I had assumed that because I currently have the fully operational Smartcraft system that the easiest way to add an instrument to that system is simply increasing the junction box access terminal numbers.

The install instructions for the Vesselview Remote state to do that if you do not have enough access points on your junction box. I was just unsure if there are different models of Smartcraft junction boxes for different years of that system.

in my particular case my boat is a 2004 Sea Ray cruiser 320 with twin 350 Mag MPI’s and as I said, the full Smartcraft system in place.

You should be good, only thing I'm finding is if the VV adapter cable is needed. From what I'm finding, so long as you don't have DTS it may be left out, but does not effect anything if it is used without DTS.

Suggest connecting things up before full install and power up to see if there are issues. Good luck and let us know who it worked out
