Whenever I take off my covers on my boat, I can smell gasoline. It's one of the reasons it will not sit in my garage over winter. ( My garage is attached/under the house. My outbords never had tis problem. Is this the nature of inboards?
Cobra,

I have a 135 gla tank and twin 350s and I don't so I really hope other people chime in here. Stick your finger in your bilge hole and see if you smell gas just to be sure you don't have a leak. Look around everywhere...

The only time I really ever smell gas is just after refueling. Granted I have a very deep hull so maybe they are settling so low I don't detect them.
As stated you need to chk a few places for leaks !
try here
all fuel tank connections (fill and vent)
follow fuel supply hose to fuel pump
chk around the base of carb (throtle shaft bushings)
gas laying on intake manifold or wetness around carb base.
also chk the throttle plate area your float could be sticking open alowing fuel to enter throttle area.

Rich

let's not forget that the float bowls are vented to the atmosphere. gas evaporates out of the bowls and leaves the engine through the flame arrestor. covered boat and some sun,... but the other sources really need to be checked. see this http://www.uscgboating.org/recalls/pdfs/bscscan64e.pdf#alcohol for another source of fumes.
