Re: Smoke Free, Day 65
It's the mind game.

"Quitting is easy, I've done it a hundred times"

Why did I suceed this time? I took control of the jedi mind tricks the nicotene was doing on my brain. After the first few days, your mind says "you've done good, you can have a drag without a problem" Then I have to just stop myself, NO! I DON'T SMOKE.

I am one puff away from a pack a day. Once you convince yourself that smoking is not a reward for not smoking, you've won half the battle.
I know that sounds weird, but when you are fighting the addiction, your mind plays a lot of tricks to get it's fix.

I carpool with my sister, who smokes, I let her smoke in the car, and it doesn't bother me. (I drive an '88 van POS with no head liner... not worried about any smell.

Times that I have quit in the past... after a week, I would tell myself, "it's ok, grab a cigar to celebrate on the way home".... as a cigerette smoker... you inhale that cigar, and are SMOKING.... no games this time. I win.
