Smokin Diesels

Replaced all filters, had all injectors removed and cleaned, Mechanic stated they were in spec.New fuel, etc. These are 350HP Cummins, with 350 hours, and they smoke especilly when coming out of the hole. Any suggestions?

Yeah... Diesels smoke... Especially getting up on step.... <br /><br />Just how much smoke are we talking about? Fogging out the marina? <br /><br />Excessive fuel consumption/more than normal?<br /><br />Any oil loss?

also what kind of smoke, white or black and is it when the engine is hot or cold or both. Is your thermost working ok? Is oil consumption up?

The smoke color tells the story.<br /><br />White=excess/unburned fuel. Or, water ingestion.<br /><br />Black=overfueling, possible turbo issues.
