Just saw on TV about the tornado that came through Palm Beach County and it looked bad. Something like 400 homes destroyed and a lot of other damage. Did you and yours make it through OK? We're all sort of used to hurricanes, but a tornado is a different story. Let us know if you can.

Re: snapperbait--Any Tornado Damage?

All's well with me... Everyone's accounted for and my roofs still here...

Have not heard from one of my customers and I fear the worst for their buisness... Looks like they were right in the middle of it, just down the road from the Pepsi warehouse that had the roof torn off...

Could'nt get to work at the yard this morning, did'nt have anything to do anyways.. Many roads in Rivera Beach are closed due to down power lines and debree(sp?) in the roads...

Very unusual to have a tornado like that here... F-2 their saying...

Thanks for the concern.. :)

Yesterday evening about 5:00...

F.Y.I. Florida has the most tornados of any state in the U.S. ... They are usually small and do little damage...

snapperbait ... glad to hear ya didnt get blown too badly in that tornader deal ...

yanno, as a kid we used to go to a little park in what we considered Riviera Beach ... it was at the foot of a bridge, had a boat ramp and little piers. and a bulkhead by the main waterway where once one
could lose buckets of shrimp to those crafty dammn sheepshead and pompano ... 35 years ago it was old, the concrete piers breaking a bit and the pipe railing a bit rusty, but I loved it, one of my fav places in florida (that an Juno pier, been there long?)

Is that little park there? I guess the little old lady that taught me the trick to gettin em is long gone, she said you a yankee boy? catch flounder? give a tug on the second bite ...

ba da boom!

Ray...LOL.. Blue Herron blvd. ring a bell? Peanut Island where JFK's bomb bunker is? Phil Foster park, Yep, the park's still there.. They fixed it up a little but has'nt changed much over the years... I put my boat in at that ramp most of the time.. That little old lady's prolly still there too.. There's some "fixtures" that fish those bridges darn near everyday...

The new Juno pier's been there about five years or so... Good place to catch bait on sabiki's..

BLUE HERRON, THE BLUE HERRON FLEET!!!!

YESSSS!!!!

Does Eddie Royals ring a bell with you, he had the Royal Flush down there in the Blue Heron basin, omg, hey, can you still get those sheepshead and pompano there? New pier eh? I guess the Casa Juno motel got bought up by some damnned condo, that was a cool part of the world, and the sun source of most of my happy memories of childhood ... and the little house, when the boat was being used, lol

Eddie Royals passed away, but the Royal Flush, fastest boat in the basin back in the late sixties, is still chugging out there from Wildwood, called the Adventurer II

lol, memories running all over the place ... I remember a place called the Savoya House, Italian joint, and we got fried seafood combination(mom), lasagne (me), kid sister got fried chicken .. and Dad, el cheapo, got spaghetti and meat ball ...

we get our respective feasts, and dads spagetti comes out, a pile far short of his usual, topped with a single, solitary and quite lonely meat ball ....lolol :D :D :D :D you had to be there, the look on his face was priceless, I can still see it 35 years later, (he was so busy with the garlic bread he really didnt notice, but we gave him some of ours!)

Re: snapperbait--Any Tornado Damage?

Glad to hear you were spared! Wow...

The strongest thing I've ever seen here was just recently.
The gurus said it was a 'Micro-burst'...Snapped off large pine trees, roofs...All in one straight path about 2 miles away from me.
We never get any major weather here. Once on a blue moon.

I don't mean to stir the pot or anything, but I have to ask:

Why do people live in an area that gets Tornado's or Earthquakes on a regular basis?

I'm mean come on....One of them comes to visit...rips everything apart, and people and government rebuild...Spends loads of money over and over...Why?

MOVE!

Yes, I know that's easier said than done.
What keeps people in a dangerous area like that?

???

H.

Ray, Eddie Royals don't ring any bells with me, course the sixties were before my time.. Just a young punk... :D 1972, Born and raised right here.. Blue Herron fleet's still around but they moved around, one's in jupiter and the others in boynton(i think)... Love those mom and pop side of the road eat em' up joints and them little flea bag motels on US-1... Couple of em are still around but still not the same... *%$#'n Condos...

Jim.. Not absolutely sure but I think the trailer park at blue heron and I-95 made out ok but it was real close there..

If'n that tornado would have hung around any longer I would have been the next area on the list... They showed a map of where it went thru, It was headed right for my area next, fortunately it pooped out for it got here... They said it was on the ground for 20 something minutes moving south at 10 mph... The national weather service counted over 800 lightening strikes in 15 minutes durring that storm... Too add to all the mess the lightening started a brush fire...
