I wish for some free advice here Snapperbait, if you don't mind.
In my business, my wife calls on a chain of Supermarkets, and deals with a Dept Manager, and a Lowly Worker who maintains our stock in their section.(male and female).
We have done the 'printed pen' trick for a few years, and they are appreciative (especially as they never recieve any free-bees from anyone else).
I am looking for ideas to move away from the pens.
Shirts etc our out.Don't like them.
We were wondering about umbrellas, golf type. Are they a go-er?

Our theory is, whatever we 'give away'
1). must be useable outside of work
2). must be attractive/stylish
3). our logo must be small and tastefull, so it dosn't dominate the item.
4). Something the reciever will 'appreciate' and use.
5). We don't need to advertise our product loudly. Our customer IS the Dept Manager and Lowly Section Worker. They are the ones who give us the order; my wife works closely with them to get product displayed well, maintained properly etc, etc, so we wish to reward them.
Any "Free" ideas? :D
Cheers
Phillip

That's true on the ball cap idea. My father has been a walking billboard for years now. :)

I use him for all of my shirts as well.
He's worth shipping across the country for.

If you are looking to reward, rather than advertise, perhaps a free lapdance is in order. :D

Sorry.

Perhaps a gift certificate to a a restaurant?
Everyone appreciates a good meal, and they will think of you everytime they pass by, or think about going out to eat.
Even if it is only at a sandwich shop, it will be remembered.

Hiya, Kiwi.. Promotonial items (pens, umbrellas, doo-dads, ect.) are a little out of my area of expertise.. I'm just a t-shirt printing, grunt.. :D

Personaly, I like the hat/baseball cap idea, if it's appropriate that is...

I would think umbrellas would be a good one...
Coffee mugs of various types, or something of that nature, might be worth looking into... Travel mugs...

There is so much out there in the "ad specialties" area that it's really rediculous.... :) Boggles the mind.. :)
