The snaps have started coming of the boat that hold canvas covers on are they SS or an alloy, how do you get the corroded piece out of the fibre class. As we know SS is hard and doesn't drill easy. Please give me your ideas

Thanks for looking

Snaps can be either zinc plated or stainless.

Can’t drill them out. Best to punch them out and fill the hole with epoxy. Install new snaps when dry

Are they pop riveted in place, or do they have a Phillips head on top and are connected to a screw?

If riveted, the hole goes all the way thru and the end can be pushed in. When replacing them be sure to use SS rivets, and SS or nickle plated brass snaps.

If they are screwed in drilling is your only alternative.

if screwed and you can get them out, the original size of the screw is a #8, they make over-sized #10 snaps as well.

I like to buy my snaps without screws so I can tailor the installation.
