hi i have a 17ft microplus with a evinrude 50hp on the back when the family get in it seams like it finding it a bit hard to move along .oncce a cpuple of us get on the front its seams fine is there anyway of changing this by changing the prop or tilting the motor away or towards the bottom of the boat if a prop sound a good idea whats the vest one to go for :confused:

Read the second post at the top of this forum and then check back. We have no idea what wide open throttle RPM your engine turns now, what diameter and pitch prop you have now, and what the maximum speed of the boat is now. Without this base-line information we can't possibly help you. We can guess, but that's not an economical way to approach the problem. First, make sure the engine is in proper tune and the hull is clean. Second, a 50 HP engine on a 17 foot boat with a family consisting of an unknown number of members seems to be an under-powered situation.

I had a 50hp on a 16.5 trihull and I could bearly turn 18mph gps with family in it..Got an 85hp and with family now runs 35mph gps..Youre underpowerd, But like upinsmoke said post youre rpms What kinda prop you have and so on.These guys will get you straighten out for sure but they need all the info you can give em
