Took my boat out yesterday evening to our local river. The river's been down for about three weeks because we haven't had any rain. I've made this run a dozen times before without problems, but apparently all the stars aligned and took out their aggression out on my prop. Struck a submerged object of some sort - probably a concrete piling for a missing dam marker buoy at about 25 mph. The result? see the pic. I guess I'll be buying two new props.

Ouch. Been thinking I need to carry a spare on board, but haven't bought one yet. That's convincing enough.

You can have it repaired.

This looks like a pretty convincing arguement for an aluminum vs. stainless with respect to lower unit repair.

Yeah, especially since this was the first trip out since I had the lower unit resealed and the bearing carrier replaced. I've always been told to stay away from stainless if operating in rivers.
