I have a 16 foot Crestliner finshing boat. I bought it used. I believe it is a 1999 model.
I have noticed a portion of the deck has recently developed quite a bit of "give" under the carpet. This is an area about one foot square. The boat is stored outside, but is kept tilted, and has a raised boat cover all year round. However, I suspect rot of some sort. I assume the carpet is glued to some plywood that is installed in sections. I can see the deck screws.
Is there a quick fix to this problem or must I tear up the section and replace the decking? If I do that it occurs to me that the carpet will be ruined and I am looking at a complete re-do of the carpeting of the entire boat so everything "matches". HELP!
