soft spot on deck

So my boat has been sitting for about 5 months. I pull the cover off today to clean it up and get it ready for a fishing trip. I walk across the deck and my heel sinks on a soft spot. Last time I used the boat the deck was rock solid. Could rain leaking through my cover done this in only five months? I have no idea how to even start fixing this. My boat is an older tri-hull with I assume some sort of plywood deck. Any ideas. Thanks

its proberly taken years for this to happen. once water gets in then all it requires is air and time to finnish the job. post lots of pictures of the boat so we can see the type of construction used

The rot cancer in your boat has been growing for a while, unfortunately rot in fiberglass boats starts at the bottom of the hull on the inside and slowly spreads out and up. Water leaking through your cover has added fuel to the fire and has sped up the process over the past 5 months.

I will try and get some pictures up. The deck is made of wood. It seems to be about an 10"x10" square right in the center of the back half. Is there a fix without tearing up the entire floor?

My boat was an exception to this rule. I had rot at the edge of the ski locker opening and a small spot between the bow seats. I ended up replacing more than just the rotten areas to ensure a good repair, but the stringers and transom were absolutely solid.

You really won't know until you tear into it.
