Aaahhh!! I was outside looking around on my boat today and found that about 70% of my transom is soft. I have a 1968 16' Mark Twain with a 120 Mercruiser. Everything else still feels solid and dry. But not the transom. With Summer in full swing I am hesitant to take the ol' lady out of commision, but I would like to execise safety first. I have been pulling around an inner-tube like there is no tomorow. One guy was a solid 250. Is there any kind of easy repair that I can perform to get me through the summer. I have seen in other post mention of a pourable transome. Could anyone give me any more info on this.

I can't say for sure if you should run your boat the way it is, but when you get started to fix it, check out www.rotdoctor.com they sell all the stuff you need to salvage and repair dry rotted wood assuming that it is not too far gone. Call them up and explain your situation, they are very helpful. I fixed some rot in the floor of my boat with their products with good results.
