We are going to leave a deep cycle 12 volt batter at our camper and hook up a solar charger.

My question is, can I leave the solar charger on the battery, or will it over charge. I can imagine going 3-4 weeks between uses of the camper.

Specs on solar charger:
Power (max): 4.5 watts
Voltage voc: 18 volts
Current (max) Isc: 250mA

Charging at 1/4 amp shouldn't be a problem...

agree, that small of a charger will just keep up with normal battery disharge. Sounds like the size of the ones they ship cars with, VW I think.... suction cup to the windshield and plugs into cig lighter

Re: Solar battery charger question

I have a square foot natural crystal battery charger. I have not used it lately as I moved to the land of the clouds. When I used it, in california, it cooked my battery. I had to buy a solid state regulator for it. The regulator also had diode(s) to keep the juice from draining back out during periods of no light.

I do not remember the advertised output of the charger but I think I still have the paperwork for it. I'm sure it was over 1/4 watt.
