Solas Prop input?

Does anyone run or heard anything about the stainless steel solas props. I want to put a 13x19 on my 115 johnson and wanted to know everyones opinion about this brand of prop. My stock prop is 13 7/8x19. Putting a little smaller diameter prop on(13x19) won't affect my motor a whole lot will it?

Don't worry about the diameter. the people who make the props do a lot of research when designing it. My stock aluminum prop was a 14.25/23 pitch When I switched to a laser II it is 13.75/23 pitch. My boat goes faster and has a better hole shot than before.You would think that bigger diameter would make for better performance but blade design has alot more to do with it. I think you will find that solas prop will work well for you if you are propped correctly now.

Do you have any idea of what your RPM is at WOT?<br /><br />I have a pair of Solas props on my 23' CC with a pair of 1.6L SeaDrives. I paid $300.00 for the pair at the Dania Marine Flea market some years back. They work OK and better than the al props. I suspect they are the middle of the road quality wise as far as SS props go. They will show surface rust if not cleaned if you run in salt water. I did have to have Solas replace one of them due to a manufacturers defect (crack in the hub). They replaced it with no questions asked.

So little,<br />I believes its 4500-5500rpm. It will be going on an 17 ft bass boat w/ 115 hp johnson.

Go for it if you can get a good price. On that note if I had to choose between an OMC and Solas SS with the price being the same I would go with the OMC. But for a good price the Solas is better than an AL prop - in my opinion.
