Looking at 17 pitch 4 blade props. I like the solas rubex and amita props. Both are cheap, but one is a bit cheaper (forgot which one). What is different between the two?

The Rubex uses the replaceable "Rubex" hub system, whereas the Amita has the rubber hub pressed in at the factory. Other than the hub type, they are the same.
Since the price of the Rubex includes the required hub kit, it can actually be cheaper than the Amita. The Amita (sometimes)requires the separate purchase of their thrust washer($23-$25) to go with it, so it can actually cost a few dollars more than the Rubex.
As far as I can tell they are basically the same. I've used the exact same 4 blade alum 19p amita and rubex prop. My boat cruises at the same speed/rpm combo, and top speed is pretty much identical as well. The rubex hub has a little more "squish" to it, but that seemed like a good thing since I spend a lot of time in shallow water. I think the rubex could take a decent prop strike and survive. My amita got replaced because a minor prop strike mis-aligned the entire hub system to the point that is was more efficient just to replace the prop.

OK. I'm looking for a prop that will give me some good holeshot and control while boarding. Last time I was out with 3 people on board and a wakeboard in the water it took forever to plane out and start picking up speed. I wish I could afford ss for more rake and bow lift but I've decided its not worth so much extra money.
