Some help needed . I just purchased a very clean 90 Hp Force outboard . The serial number is 0E039308 and there is no model number on the plate with the serial number . What I find is that it might be a 1991 . I am going to need some parts so I would really like to know the for sure YEAR of manufacture and the MODEL number if it has one . I assume that this a Mercury made Force from what I can find . I have a 1998 , 50 Hp Force on our pontoon boat and one of the most reliable engines I have ever had . I am planning on replacing it with this 90 Hp force . Can someone help with the model and year made ? I also would like specs and a good repair manual if still made . Thanks

On a pontoon I would stay with the most reliable 50 hp 1998 as it has the more modern electronic ignition. the extra power is to some extend illusion due the rerating of later engines (if I remember correctly) and would make relatively little difference in speed, but burn more gas.
A 1991 would have old style electronics and this is the biggest impact on reliability. In my opinion. Your mileage may vary.

I will definitely consider that . Will not do away with the 50 hp till I see the difference . thanks

Post pics of the 90 Lower unit and cowl and coils/packs.
Since it has an OG 039038 that shows Mercury and it could be as early as a 94 to a 99
