In 13 years of working in hotels I think I have seen the biggest A-hole ever.. And I've come across a bunch.
I didn't deal with him but they check in and wanted to switch rooms to a lower level. His wife checked with us and it wasn't a problem. We arranged his accommodations. He stops at the desk to double check the room number and he says thank you.. So far seems like a real nice guy..
Now I'm in the storage near his room and I see them trying to get into the room. (wrong door or bad key, maybe a keycard operator error). Anyways his wife is swiping the card and it's not working,, I hear him snap "Give me the damn key" and he starts to swipe the key. I hear his wife tell him you have to turn the key around and he said, "Are you telling me what to do?" she said it wont work that way.. Then he said, "Go sit over there, Right over there"
I'm standing in the hall watching and she's now sitting along the wall on the floor like a child. His/her little girl runs up to him and kinda runs into him grabbing his legs like she's hugging his leg, and he tells her to sit down next to his wife..
I finished up in the storage, about 5 minutes and she's still sitting there while he's inside the room unloading the luggage cart.....
Wow, just wow.
