For 3-4 weeks i had my bilge full of water due to engine problems. Now i have taken the engine out to replace it it's a big chance to freshen the bilge and the small water pocket in the front of the boat( i don't know it's name ,i call it bilge front). While taking the water out i noticed that some water was leaking from two points (red arrows at the picture) that i can't distiguish if they are water drains or cracks to the fiberglass that i have to repair. Please help otherwise i have to start digging the boat to find it out !

looks like they are drains, from the sub hull, saturated foam underneath. time to investigate more.

td is correct ....they are drain holes...from the hull

but before you coer sample it......id call searay....ask if there was foam used in the 22's in 78.

in all likley hood....td is correct about the foam......but a qiuck phone call is faster than drilling a hole in the deck.......

if there is foam in there.....come back here and search core sample.

i think eriks boat was close to that one.....???

the hull ext boat was a 69 srv 190.....and no foam.....but someone was in there before me.....

there is one other thing.......the rays of that era had a "bulbous" bow.....

a stringline might make it look like a hooked hull form the outside.....but the plaining surface was straight.....water can collect in the front bow......

lift the bow....way up......if water gushes freely out....no probs....but if it trickels for days......

btw....do you have a bow mount gas tank....or is it aft in the floor?

under the tank....there is a sub floor....(a raised portion)....(what you put you feet against when you streach out)......that thing is hollow......if you call searay and find out there is foam in the boat.....that is an exellent place to take a good look under the deck.......cut a hole in there....then one in the actual deck....great place for a foward core sample.......also...

do you have a ski locker in there.......if you do.....cut a hole in a bulkhead....(not the stringer).....it will tell you a lot
