Here is what I need help with. I have a 1975 OMC Stern Drive. I need to know how the whole tilt system works for the leg. I got the electric motor rebuilt and when I installed it it clicks and the leg does nothing. The battery has charge. The brass thing in the tilt clutch casing doesn't turn when I opened the case and the leg can be lifted up and down freely. If I remove the electric motor the brass thing will turn with the clutch (this brass thing is the thing that meshs with the worm gear from the electric motor. So I need to know all I can to figure out what is wrong. Can anyone help me because this whole system is very frustrating. That brass ring has to turn with the rest of the system and it won't. It isn't binding on anything. Has plenty of oil. Thanks for any advice or if someone can tell how the whole darn thing works, please help. Jeff

Cant tell you too much about your system.but::
What you here clicking is the solenoid When it clicks it connects the power to the motor through the large terminals and the switch inside it.There should be 12 volts from the battery on one large terminal and when it clicks power should come out at the other terminal to the motor.
If it doesnt the cantacts inside are bad and youll probably need to replace the solenoid.
You need to find a manual there should be after market manuals here on iboats or NAPA auto parts
and maybe at the library.
