Well gang,
After all my troubles, I finally have spark on all three cylinders and a strong running motor. I do however still have questions.
I got a new CD box that didn't come with a plug, so when I rewired it, I went by a colored wiring diagram I found here. It does not match my motor though. My trigger has 2 pairs of orange and green, and 1pair red and white/green stripe.
Everything I find shows that one set of O&G should go to each CD box and the #1 box also gets the R&W/g pair. However, the factory plugs on the trigger have both sets of O&G on one plug and the R&W/g on the other plug. ??? What gives?
The wiring diagram also shows that the blue stator wire does not go to pack #2, yet unless I hook it up, it wont fire.
After hours of trial and error re-wiring, I finally got good spark on #1 and #3, with a very weak spark on #2. A quick swap with an old coil, and #2 roared to life !!!
Long and short, I realize that it doesn't matter what COLOR a wire is, just where it comes from and where it goes. At this point I just have to guess that I have something correct! I'm gonna throw it in the water tomorrow, and see what happens. My confidence level is high though, finally!
Thanks for all the help!
