Hi I'm unable to find the part number or a source for the freeze/core plug that measures 7/8" or .875" for the 60's-70's 18hp Evinrudes the one that usually has the model and serial number stamped on it. I found them in steel but I'm afraid it might crack the thin wall of the hole before it upsets. Looking for aluminum or brass
Thanks in advance Mike

It serves no purpose other than the I.D. so why replace it? But, it MIGHT be part number 307541. I don't have one to measure and verify.

That I didn't know! I assumed since there was a hole drilled at a right angle at the bottom it was a core or freeze plug and being I just picked it up and haven't had it in the water yet and won't till the weather starts warming up.
Once again Thanks Mike

The hole was drilled to remove the plug (by blowing compressed air in). Now you can wonder why they removed it. Sometimes to transfer it to another powerhead. Sometimes because it is a stolen motor. I don't know.
