Southland vs Sylvan

Good morning everyone,
I love reading all the advice and wisdom in this forum.

We have a 1999 21 foot Southland with a 40 hp (spec 25 inch pontoon, .081 thickness, weight 1450, capacity 3290, 9 people) we are thinking of trading to a 07 Sylvan 20 foot with a 90 hp.Price around 14 or 15 because of large motor.
My question is: what quality is the sylvan in the pontoon boats ladder, as to construction, stability, weight ..are they an economy level. I have read they have a small capacity and are light. Is that important.
Our lake is usually windy and choppy by 3 in the afternoon. Lake Simcoe in ON.
Thanks for any input.

Re: Southland vs Sylvan

IMHO, the Sylvan is a middle-of-the-line pontoon boat. And also IMHO, depending on your location, 14 or 15 grand for the Sylvan is a little high even with no trade. I would shoot for 9 or 10 with trade.

Starting a new thread is not the same thing as having a thread moved. You've posted the same question in two different sections, which is a big no no. At this point you need to send a private message (PM) to a moderator and ask him or her to merge your threads. I hope you don't think I have it in for you; quite the opposite I promise. I'm just trying to save you some grief as some members will have some snide remarks for you. If you're not sure who to PM I'll be glad to suggest someone.:)
