I'll try to keep it short and simple

I have a 1990 model SP 230 drive with a 2.3 aq131

I was given a new prop that is the "long hub" type, where as my current prop is a "short hub.

After installation, the nose cone only grabs a few threads and the locking bolt in the end doesn't reach the prop shaft.

My research suggests either prop can be used as long as the drive has the threaded hole for the locker bolt. It doesn't appear I have a "2 piece cone" so I can't remove any spacers. Also my boat seems to have both the lock tab washer and the bolt in the end, seems It should only be one or the other.

Can I just use a longer bolt? and what would the thread pitch be on it?

you mean an SPA behind your AQ131.

why not get the prop you need? if you are interested, I know where there is an entire fresh-water SP lower with prop, cone, etc. from behind an AQ145 for about $400 on CL right now.
