Spaghetti on the Lower Unit????????

OK, I thought that would get the attention of a few people! HA HA<br />I just bought a salt water boat and on the unit I have what looks like small inch long pieces of Spaghetti stuck to it.. Its all over the place.<br />Any ideas what it is???? Whats the easiest way to get it off. I have tried a scrub brush but that does not work, If you uses something harder you can get it off but I don’t want to tear up the paint on the drive… Any ideas would be great and what the Hell is it???<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />K. No idea what it is...but you may try a strong ammonia solution. That seems to work on most anything...<br /><br />Walt

I figure it is something from the Ocean..... Since it was a salt water boat... Its only on the lower unit and not the hull....

tallman8251,<br /><br />If it was in salt water (I think you said it was), I had the same creatures living on my outboard on the skeg and some on the hull where the bottom paint didn't keep them away.<br /><br />They are some kind of sea worm, sort of like a barnicle. I scraped them off with a putty knife. There have a hard type shell, some sort of secretion/growth by the creature. I don't know if a chemicle barnicle remover will get it.<br /><br />Cheers.<br /><br />emp.

Doesnt really matter anymore the Leg has been replaced... But thanks for the tips! LOL
