Hi Folks, I have an eagle trailer for my glastron sx-195 and it does not have a spare tire for the trailer. What do I need to mount a tire on the trailer? I don't want it to look goofy ya know, is there a specific trailer mount I can buy from the trailer maker? At least this way it will look like it was made for it. Thanks all.

Re: Spare tire for Eagle trailer needed

I don't know about goofy looking, but frequently the spare is held on the trailer by a square "U" bolt that goes through the lug holes of the spare and around the tubing of the tounge or winch post. The "U" bolt is held on by a pair of lug nuts.

Personally I like the tounge as it gives me a working platform above the water at launch. Some like the looks of a vertically mounted tire on the winch post. Some others still like to mount the spare in front of one of the fenders like a 1930's Lincoln or Caddy.

All are easily done and anyone that sells boat trailers will have the parts on hand to do it the way you wish.

Good luck!

Tashadaddy, does this mount to the frame using u-bolts or do you drill the frame and bolt it against the rail?
