I already did a search and have a question.
I have the AC MR43T plug in my boat now and when I went to the Marina they said they only carry NGK and I bought them but they are not the same size and shape?
The NGK plug number is BPR6EFS and above that it says 3623 on the box.Is this an acceptable subsitute or did the guy give me the wrong plug?
By the way its a 1992 3.0L Mercruiser and the serial number is OD 801474

If the end that goes into the block is different then do not use them. You can go to any auto parts store for plugs. NAPA, Auto Zone, etc

Yeah the part that goes in the block is different....so I will return them. I was hoping to get the exact plugs that were in there.
I will call around for the Ac's I guess

According to the NGK cross reference chart, AC MR43T is an NGK BR6FS.

According to the Merc parts manual, you should be using the NGK BR6FS as Aldo mentioned. The plugs they gave you are for a 1996 and newer engine.

Thanks guys....Its kind of frustrating when you go to a place and even supply them with the serial number and year and you still come out of there with the wrong parts.

The M is for marine which is for the corrision protection of the meatal part. I guess if your in the salt belt that is good I use R43T which is the same plug and Auto Zone always has them and you do not have to pay 3.50 a plug. If we think about it who would leave those in long enough to have the body of the plug rust out.
just my 2 cents bob

Thanks for all the help guys. I ended up bringing them back and the kid new exactly what plug I needed and even had the gaul to say Ha I gave you the ones for a 3.0LX and you have a 3.0L....Haha"
He gave me the NGK plugs that Don S mentioned and they seem to be working fine in the motor on the muffs
