spark plug gap ?

hi everyone , can someone tell me the sparkplug gap for a 1990 johnson 140 hp ? some charts say 30 some say 40 . thanks .

Here is the latest official factory sparkplug chart. don't use others or conversion charts as they may not be accurate. Wherever you saw a .040" gap on a chart means that it was about 20-25 years old and never corrected.

thanks , i went and set them at 40 i will take them back out and set them at 30 .

You will not notice any difference.

The best advice I have is that they were changed ( during the 1990s ) to improve plug life
