Mariner dealer gave me gap type plug instead of flat spark ring type like was originally in motor. He said everyone is getting away from the flat gapless type-is this correct? I don't trust his opinion or info-he gave me the wrong gasket twice while I was trying to get exhaust gaskets for this 86 Mariner 20 hp-then he lied he made out like the factory had put the wrong gasket in the pack BUT I had the no. from the wrong pack written down and the one that worked was a different number..Anyway even though he has been there since 86 when I bought the motor-he don't know his stuff--What about the flat top plug -VS- the gap type??????
