What kind do I need for a 4.3 mercruiser? Can I use regular automotive plugs and oil?
I have to order everthing for my boat. The nearest boat shop is 50 miles away.100 miles round trip so it eats up gas in a hurry. Thanks in advance.:)

auto will work, but marine are proper...
ac MR-43T (from s/m #7 covering MCM 205MR). regular plugs rust worse than marine plugs.

auto oil will work, any oil will work. but. proper oil is 25W40. that don't come in the auto variety. mercrusier makes some for you though..

If you are expecting a simple, awe inspiring answer to your oil question, forget it, there isn't one. If you do not want to use what is recommended by the manufacturer (see reply above by ziggy), then just pick an oil and go for it.
No matter what oil it is, someone, somewhere, sometime, has used it and would recommend it to everyone because it worked for them.
Below, I have listed some of the previous oil threads, It will save everyone a lot of typing as the answers never change.

Plugs are plugs and oil is personal prefernce. Most boats need 20/40 which you can only find at a marine shop. I've used 10/40 for years without a problem. Just make sure you use a top brand.

Use automotive plugs. they are the same and a store should be able to tell you which one or just pull one and get it replaced. Oil is 20/40 from a marine shop or use 10/40. Use a top brand.
